FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader is a once-off purchase.
The device is designed to scan the FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensor, which ideal for patients without compatible smartphones. Together with the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System, it provides continuous glucose monitoring to help track trends and manage your diabetes more effectively.
The FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader features optional glucose alarms for added safety. Readings must be scanned manually, as it does not stream real-time glucose data. The system measures interstitial fluid glucose levels in people aged 4 and older.
Please note that caregiver supervision is required for children under the age of 18 years.
By replacing routine blood glucose testing (in most cases that is), FreeStyle Libre 2 makes diabetes management easier and more convenient. A blood glucose meter should still be used in certain conditions, such as rapidly changing glucose levels, suspected hypoglycaemia, or where symptoms does not reflect the sensor readings.
